Ghana MEST and France PARIS&Co partnership to back Ghanaian startups

The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) in Ghana and PARIS&Co, the economic development and innovation agency of Paris, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support Ghanaian startups and link the two ecosystems.

The purpose of the partnership between the MEST incubator and PARIS&Co is to establish a mutually beneficial relationship which fosters the growth of each of the parties’ ecosystems.  This will be accomplished by facilitating the movement of startups between the two countries and also facilitating flow of information between the two parties.

PARIS&Co officials stated the partnership shows sign of a different, a more positive relationship between France and African nations.

“This agreement, which is the first in our bilateral relations, shows the increasing role of France in the digitisation of Africa. In the case of Ghana, young entrepreneurs have been and will be invited to France in order to support innovation,” said French Ambassador to Ghana François Pujolas.

French digital operators already have footings in several African Tech hubs including Abidjan and Cape Town.
